Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about renting a safe deposit box in Nairobi. Still curious? Ask us directly.

What can I store in my safe deposit box?

Jewellery, watches, gold and precious metals, title deeds, wills, passports, birth certificates, share certificates, academic certificates, collectibles and encrypted backup drives. If it matters and you don’t need it daily, it belongs in the vault.

What can’t I store?

Illegal items of any kind, firearms and ammunition, perishables, and hazardous or radioactive materials. Storage of cash is subject to applicable Kenyan regulations — ask our team for guidance.

How do I rent a box?

Visit us with your national ID or passport and proof of address. Registration and signing take minutes, you receive your personal key, and your box is available immediately.

Who can access my box?

Only you — plus any person you nominate in writing as an authorised user. Because of dual-key control, no one, including our staff, can open your box without the registered holder present or an authorised user acting on your instructions.

What happens if I lose my key?

Your identity is verified, and the lock is drilled and replaced with you present. A key replacement fee applies. Your contents are never at risk and never handled without you.

Can I access my box at night or on weekends?

Yes. Members enjoy 24/7 smart access via biometric entry — including public holidays. The office team is available during business hours for anything that needs a human.

Is my box insured?

Yes. Every box includes cover against fire, theft and damage while items are inside the vault. For high-value collections, we recommend a professional valuation so you can consider top-up cover.

How do I pay?

M-Pesa, card or bank transfer. Boxes are billed annually in advance, with reminders before renewal — no auto-charges.

Is there a minimum rental period?

The standard term is 12 months, renewed annually. Short-term options may be available for special circumstances — ask our team.

Do you know what’s inside my box?

No. Privacy is the foundation of safe deposit. We never inspect, record or ask about contents. You use a private viewing room, and only you know what crosses its threshold.
